Try These Makeup Looks From 2 Shows By African American Designers

By February 16, 2013

Follow me on:

Angela Bassett and Tracy Reese.

One word can describe the makeup looks from two African-American fashion lines during the recent Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week: artistic.

Makeup artist Mally Roncal once again created the makeup look for designer Tracy Reese.

I was invited backstage to see how the makeup was done for the William Okpo F/W 2013 show.† William Okpo is named for the father of sister design team Lizzy and Darlene Okpo. Unfortunately I couldn't make it, but I do have a step by step for the makeup designed by Janell Gleason, Global Artistic Director for Aveda Makeup.

Lizzy, Janell and Darlene

So here are two artistic looks from the fall 2013 runways of Tracy Reese and William Okpo, plus tips for how to recreate them at home.
