Here are four fresh celebrity scents to try for the spring and summer months.
“I wanted to create a scent that helped empower women to reveal their passionate sides. Nothing makes a woman sexier or more beautiful than the confidence that comes from within.”--Halle Berry
One year after the successful launch of Reveal by Halle Berry, Berry released a fourth fragrance, Reveal the Passion.
Packaged in an art deco inspired design in shades of magenta, the bottle is shaped like a four-sided teardrop and topped with a jewel-like cap.
Fragrance perfumer Olivier Gillotin of Givaudan envisioned a bolder, sexier and more alluring interpretation of the original fragrance.
Reveal the Passion is a sensual floral with top notes of bergamot and dewfruit, heart notes of freesia, apple, white champaca and mangosteen and a dry down of branches of ambered okoume, patchouli and warm musk.
Eau de Parfum, 0.5 oz $17, 1.0 oz $28.
“My new fragrance is about taking control, but still being a lady. There’s definitely a feminine, romantic quality to it, but the fragrance also has a defiant quality. I love the duality of it.”--Rihanna
Rebelle, the second fragrance by Rhianna, is meant to capture the warmth of the Caribbean sun, reflecting Rihanna’s Barbados roots, and Rebelle is what Rhianna’s grandmother used to call her.
Caroline Sabas and Marypierre Julien the perfumers behind her debut fragrance Reb’l Fleur, created this lush sensual gourmand chypre (a perfume with an accord comprised of floral top notes, floral middle and base notes from musks), meant to explore the singer’s mysterious and sensual side. The sassy yet sweet fragrance has top notes of strawberries, purple plums with ginger, heart notes of cacao absolute, vanilla, orchid and heliotrope and base notes of patchouli, coffee beans, musk and amber.
Eau de Parfum, 3.4 oz $59, 1.7 oz $49
“I want women to feel sexy, strong, empowered and I want them to feel like they can conquer anything. When they walk into a room, I want them to feel like they can leave a lasting impression on everyone they walk past.”--Beyonce
Pulse Summer Edition, is a fresh, lighter version of the original Pulse scent, to capture the energy you feel during the summer, say the creators, “a scent that will leave you feeling great and ready to conquer anything as if nothing and no one could ever resist you.”
The fruity floral has joyful top notes of icy mandarin and pears with pink pepper, heart notes of ginger orchid, jasmine and Tunisian orange flower, and a creamy dry down of sapphire woods, musk and benzoin.
Eau de Parfum, 3.4 fl oz, $59

4. Glowing, Jennifer Lopez
"This is a very woodsy scent. So it's not exactly what I created 10 years ago, it's the evolution of that. At the essence, it's still natural, earthy, clean and real..."--Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer’s 18th fragrance, Glowing, is a fresh and clean floral woodsy fragrance with notes of bergamot, mandarin, cypress, orange blossom, vanilla, patchouli and cashmere musk. Perfumers Calice Becker and Caroline Sabas developed the fragrance. Lopez told Women's World Daily that the scent is a woodsy side of the original scent, natural, earthy, clean and “kind of New York-y, darker and sexier.”
J Lo's Glowing will be sold at Kohl’s starting in May, and will be available in three sizes, 1 oz $39, 1.7 oz $49 and 2.5 oz, $65. Speaking of glowing, it’s truly an illuminating fragrance. There's a special feature—the larger size bottles for the new scent actually light up.
