Foundation Brush
What It's For
An angled foundation brush that lets you build the coverage you need.
Review
I don’t think one would need both the Expert Face Brush and the Foundation Brush. However the foundation brush does enable you to work around the nose and under the eyes with more precision and with firmer bristles.
Expert Face Brush
What It's For
The Expert Face Brush is used for blending cream or liquid foundation.
Review
The Expert Face Brush is a round, dome-shaped broad bristled brush that was recently added to the collection. It gives a softer application than the more precise angled foundation brush.
Powder Brush
What It's For
To evenly apply powders and mineral foundations.
Review
The powder brush is large with dense, but soft bristles. You can use it for setting and loose powder, translucent powder and bronzer. It really does help distribute product evenly and lightly on the face for a smooth application and if you are heavy handed, it keeps you from over-doing it. It’s also great to use when you have a highly pigmented product.
Core Collection
What It's For
The Core Collection contains four full size brushes – a detailer brush precision cut to conceal problem areas or use with lipstick to shape and define; contour brush to apply highlighter to contour or to create a sheer, soft-focus finish; pointed foundation brush to use with liquid foundation to custom build coverage and a buffing brush for full coverage application of powdered or mineral foundation and a black case.
Review
The Contour Brush is meant for contouring with cream and powder blush and cream and powder highlighter, but it can be used to apply liquid, powder and cream foundation.
The Buffing Brush gives a nice finish to foundation, but can be used for blush, bronzer and setting powder (and probably for cream and liquid foundation, though I didn’t try it for that purpose).
The Pointed Foundation brush can be used to build coverage. I’m not quite sure one would need this brush if one already has the Foundation Brush. It’s more like a concealer brush.
The Detailer can be used for spot concealing and applying lipstick and defining lips.
The 2-in-1 panoramic case is convenient for finding your brushes as you apply makeup. It can stand up and then when you are finished, closes into a case with a Velcro closure.
